In this article, we'll go over the differences between our various Shopify Apps found on their store: Order Sync, Dispatch, and Shipping Options.

 

 

To understand the differences, it is easier to separate the apps in terms of their purpose. Both 'Order Sync' and 'Dispatch' work to make it easier to create shipments from your orders, whereas 'Shipping Options' is specifically for adding rates on your Shopify checkout.

Apps For Creating Shipments

GoSweetSpot Order Sync App (Standard Integration)

Overview

The Order Sync App with Shopify is like our other integrations with different eCommerce platforms. It works by pulling in your Shopify orders to GoSweetSpot's user interface where you can process the orders and create shipments without needing to copy/paste order data. It offers a comprehensive two-way data exchange, allowing for fulfillment and tracking information to be sent back to Shopify.

GoSweetSpot Shipping Options App

Overview

The Shopify Shipping App allows you to display GoSweetSpot's carrier rates directly on your Shopify checkout. It offers a number of rules and methods you can customise to determine what rate to provide your customer at checkout. A key benefit of this app is that it will validate your customer's addresses, meaning rural and residential fees can be applied much more accurately at checkout. This App can be used in conjunction with both the Order Sync or Dispatch Apps.

  • Display Carrier Rates: Show GoSweetSpot's carrier rate calculations on your Shopify checkout page.
  • Surcharges: Apply surcharges for residential or rural deliveries based on address validation.
  • Customisable Rules: Define rules based on shopping cart value, product weight, or markup current rates.

  • Manual Shipping Criteria Setup: You need to specify in your GoSweetSpot accounts the cubic/weights/services that will display on your Shopify checkout, based on the customer delivery location.

  • Automated Zone Management: GoSweetSpot manages shipping zones, simplifying setup and maintenance.

Notes

  • Shopify Plan Restrictions: Shopify requires you to have a feature called Carrier Calculated Shipping (CCS) for this app to work. It is not available on all Shopify plans, you may require a premium subscription or can purchase that function separately from Shopify.
  • Multiple Fulfilment/Shipping Locations: Shopify may calculate shipping rates separately for each location, leading to inconsistencies.
  • Small Extra Charge: There is a small monthly fee for this app to cover running costs.
