Non-Metro FedEx Collections

  • Updated

Within New Zealand. FedEx's drivers only service the Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch metro areas.

FedEx will still be available from other locations but will charge a surcharge for collection and will contract that pickup to a third-party courier (usually NZ Couriers). This will add additional time to the shipment delivery ETA due to the third-party collection.

How this will work:

  1. Generate the shipping label via GSS.
  2. Schedule a collection, which will automatically notify FedEx.
  3. FedEx will arrange for a third-party courier to perform the pickup.
  4. FedEx will email you with the third-party label and booking link.
  5. Once you have booked this, the third-party courier will collect the item from your location.
  6. The item will then be transferred to FedEx for final delivery to the recipient.

Outside New Zealand. FedEx will deliver to most areas, but their drivers will again only service metro areas. If the delivery area is considered an outer area, a surcharge will be applied, and a local courier service will be contracted to make the delivery.

How this will work:

  1. Generate the shipping label via GSS.
  2. Email our support team to process a Remote Pickup Request or complete an RPI Form
  3. Once we receive the completed form, our support team will notify FedEx
  4. FedEx will arrange for the collection and delivery of the item.
