Non-Metro FedEx Collections

  • Updated

New Zealand

FedEx's drivers only service the Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch metro areas.

FedEx will still be available from other locations, but will charge a surcharge for collection and will contract that pickup to a third-party courier (usually NZ Couriers). This will add additional time to the shipment delivery ETA due to the third-party collection.

How this will work:

  1. Generate the shipping label via GSS.

  2. Schedule a collection, which will automatically notify FedEx.

  3. FedEx will arrange for a third-party courier to perform the pickup.

  4. FedEx will email you with the third-party label and booking link.

  5. Once you have booked this, the third-party courier will collect the item from your location.

  6. The item will then be transferred to FedEx for final delivery to the recipient.

Rest of the World

FedEx will deliver to most areas, but its drivers usually  only collect from metro areas. If the delivery area is considered an outer area, a surcharge may be applied, and a local courier service may be contracted to make the delivery. There are two ways to arrange this collection.

Option 1. Bookng Via Online Link

  1. Generate the shipping label via GSS.

  2. The sender should have received an email with a booking link (you can also find this in Tracking & History), clicking this should start a booking with FedEx and they can arrange someone to collect. If there are delays or issues with this process, some countries/areas may require the below manual option instead.

Option 2. Create Manual Booking Form

  1. Generate the shipping label via GSS.

  2. Email our support team to process a Remote Pickup Request or complete an RPI Form

  3. Once we receive the completed form, our support team will notify FedEx

  4. FedEx will arrange for the collection and delivery of the item.
