Print Agent 2 (Intel-Based Macs Unable to Run GoPrint Advanced)

  • Updated

Some older Macs (specifically those using Intel CPUs) are not able to run GoPrint Advanced. In this case, there is a work around to continue to use Print Agent 2.

If you do not have Print Agent 2 installed for Mac you can download it here.

To allow Print Agent 2 to run on your Mac, you need to add an entry to your Host File so your Print Agent knows to talk to a specific allowed server.

We have written a script that will do this for you. To run this, follow the below steps:

1. Download the file 'add_host.sh

2. Open Terminal from your Applications

3. Type 'sudo bash ' (with the extra space) in Terminal

4. Drag the 'add_host.sh' file into the Terminal window. This will automatically create the correct file path.

5. You will be prompted to enter your Mac computer password, please type this and press enter.

6. This will have updated your Host File.

Note, if you want to check it has been updated correctly, you can type 'sudo nano /etc/hosts' into Terminal and you should see an entry for "ps.gosweetspot.com"
